The results will be provided to the education authority as reference materials toward martial arts sports development-related affairs. This study uses the revised version of “Survey on Taiwan high school and college Martial Arts Athletes’ Percipience of Coaches’ Leading Behaviors and Goal Orientation” as questionnaire research tool. Items in this survey include: (1) personal information; (2) scales of Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes’ percipience of coaches’ leading behaviors, which including 5 dimensions: coaches’ training and guidance behaviors, democratic behaviors, authoritarian behaviors, reward behaviors, and social support behaviors, and (3) scales of Taiwan high school and college of martial arts athletes’ percipience of goal orientation, which including 2 dimensions: task orientation and ego orientation. The targets are Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes. Among the 313 questionnaires, 46 invalid questionnaires were removed and valid questionnaires were 267, sample recovery was 86.3%. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s post-hoc test. The major conclusions reached in this study are presented as follows: (1) In terms of coaches’ leading behaviors, both Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes show higher acceptance toward coaches’ training and leading behaviors, and the acceptance toward authoritarian behaviors is the least. On the measurement of goal orientation, a higher level of ego orientation has been detected, with lower scores on task orientation. (2) Different background variables of Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes’ percipient of coach's leading behaviors got significant difference in ‘gender’, ‘education stage’, ‘sports years’, and ‘sports performance’. (3) Different background variables of Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes’ percipient of goal orientation did not get significant difference. (4) Taiwan high school and college martial arts athletes’ percipient toward coaches’ leading behaviors and goal orientation are positively related.
