Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 公共衛生研究所 === 96 === Experimental study involves some preventive or remedial interventions. The subjects are randomized into experimental and control groups to compare the treatment effect eventually. In this study, the tumor volumes of the rats are repeated measurements. Except for different treatments, there are neither extra confounders nor inherent difference among mice. The Analysis of variance with adjusted degrees of freedom and two-stage approach are applied for treatment effect comparison. Those measurements include average tumor volume, average tumor growth volume and the average growth rate of tumor. In addition to the evaluation of treatment effect on tumors, the growth model of the tumor volumes in various treatment groups is another issue. Both exponential growth curve and Gompertz curve are considered. The results show that the average volume and the growth rates of tumor are significantly different among groups. Thus, the treatments may resist the growth of tumor volumes successfully. We also find that the control group, β-Lapachone 75mg and Co-60 15Gy are suitable for exponential growth curve, while the combination of treatment is suitable for Gompertz curve. In this study, growth models were constructed depending on different growth trends. Based on the finding of models, we would like to provide some reliable suggestions for the investigator who involves in the topic.
