NRC-1 (NRC-1) and Haloarcula marismortui. Since the constructed networks are too complicated for intuitive interpretations, we inspected the subnetworks instead to track down the synthesis and degradation of selected metabolites. By analyze the subnetworks, we could find the relationships between the starting and final metabolites of the selected compounds. In this study, we compared the amino acid and energy metabolisms of NRC-1 and H. marismortui grown in peptone medium. We noticed several common metabolic features shared by NRC-1 and H. marismortui. For instance, the utilization of the amino acids Aspartate, Asparagine, Proline, Serine, Glutamate, and Glutamine in energy metabolism after they are converted to 2-oxoglutarate, fumartate or oxaloacetate, the intermediates of TCA cycle and the interconversions of several amino acids. On the other hand, we also found several differences in metabolisms between NRC-1 and H. marismortui. Apparently, H. marismortui has more non-essential amino acids. This study had provides the frameworks for further experimental validation of the metabolisms in these organisms.
