碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 企業管理系碩士班 === 96 === Due to the increasing population of the elderly in Taiwan, the demand for nursing home service is increasing day by day. The operational concept, “teamwork”, can further guarantee the quality of health care in the system of long-term caring service. Nevertheless, in the past clinic pharmacists were excluded from the scheme of the manpower deployment when the grading clauses were conducted to nursing home service. Under such circumstance, the position of clinic pharmacists in nursing home was indistinct for a long time. Consequently, a necessity to make it more explicit that the function and the role a clinic pharmacist should play as being one of the “teamwork” members in the scheme of long-term caring service should be further determined. This study was processed by the research of an individual case, chosen a subsidiary nursing home of the medical hospital situated in central of Taiwan. By means of interviewing, data-collecting, data-analyzing and reorganizing the literature materials, it is expected that the function and role of a clinic pharmacist in the scheme of long-term caring service can be firmly structured and well-established. According to the research results demonstrated, it is further proved that a clinic pharmacist not only effectively enhances the quality of medications to secure the residents who rely on the service given by nursing home, but also benefits the management systems in nursing home industry. With great hope, it is expected that this study will be a practical tool as well as a beneficial reference for those who will command the management infrastructure of nursing home service in the future.
