And as the increasing of the emphasis on financial management, the investors’ demand for new financial derivatives increases as well. Meanwhile, mutual fund is one of the popular investment tools in the capital market. Because there exists the investing quota limits among China market, many Taiwanese banks turn into Hong Kong wealth management market as the launching pad, not only to provide the services to related customers but also to prepare for the access to China market. Hong Kong is one of the most open economies all around the world, and benefiting from the Chinese glasnost policy, Hong Kong market absorbs the massive demands of the inland wealth management. For that reason, being the gateway into China market, it attracts more and more Taiwan banks joining the competition. However, in Taiwan, facing the challenges of the global financial environment and the domestic shrinking market, it becomes a cut-throat competition among so much local banks. Therefore, it will be a great strategy for the Taiwanese banks to broaden their horizon into Hong Kong and the inland market. This research attempts to explore the successful business strategy and entry mode by focusing on the Taiwanese banks operating in Hong Kong. Yet, we find that due to lacking of the localized strategy and business model, the segmentation and position of Taiwanese banks mainly aim at the Taiwanese companies and investors. And we conclusively think that in order to improve the service to the overseas customers and to strengthen the depth and breadth of overseas business, banks may invest and develop the strategic alliances with Hong Kong banks.
