Description
Summary:碩士 === 真理大學 === 管理科學研究所 === 97 === High-tech industry moving toward the trend of the worldwide division of labor pushes enterprises to adopt the strategic idea of open innovation. However, enterprises adopt the way of cooperation whether or not to face this environment of complex technologies is still worth discussing. This study attempts to describe the complex network of enterprises which develop technology strategies in a patent pool and understand how to get competitive advantage. The sample in the study was comprised of 339 issued U.S. patent data from 1986 to 2008 in 3C patent pool. It makes technology managers analyze competitors’ strategies more exactly through thirteen patent indices, particularly in technology arrangement. The results show that only Pioneer combines outside resources actively to develop niche technologies (The proportion of cooperation is 0.05); LG concentrates on arrangement of a few specific DVD technology fields. LG excels at patent arrangement viewing from number of claims, words of claims, and patent family.; Philips and Sony arrange patents broadly on all of seventeen DVD technology fields, each leads four and five technology fields in 3C patent pool. Both of their patent arrangements are representative of platform development strategies viewing form patent scope and number of patents.
