Results showed that when the bright side of CNT paper contact with ITO glass and carbon nanotube with the weight of 20 mg made CNT paper held better field emission property. The composites of CNT-Cu paper could make by carbon nanotube powders mixed with copper particles, and the copper oxidized copper oxide in the experiment process. The turn-on fields of pure CNT paper, CNT/Cu/CNT paper and CNT/Cu paper were 3.58、4.12、3.54 V/μm, respectively, and CNT/Cu paper had the best performance of field emission. The main difference of CNT/Cu paper with the others was that there are copper oxide particles on the surface to protect carbon nanotube and reduce the oxidation. CNT/Cu/CNT paper with a layer of copper oxide in the middle of the structure increased resistance and caused negative effects for the field emission. The turn-on fields of cobalt-coating and titanium-coating on the surface of CNT papers were 3.86、4.04 V/μm, respectively. And after annealing they were 2.86、3.02 V/μm, respectively. They hindered field emission but could be improved turn-on field by annealing treatment.
