碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 政治學所 === 97 === The present literature on the election voting behavior in Taiwan propose that in addition to the factors such as political parties, election issues and candidates, interpersonal and social relationships are the distinguishing characteristics that affect voters’ voting orientation about 2005 Magistrate Election and the 2008 President Election in Tainan County. Therefore, this study explores the influential factors of the voters’ voting behavior in the central and local elections in Tainan County based on six voting orientation, including “national identification”, “mass media”, “local factions”, “economic evaluation”, etc. The Qualitative Research technique was applied in the study . 12 subjects were interviewed about the six voting orientation. The results of this study suggest that the voters in Tainan County have relatively high autonomy in the central election, and their primary consideration is the party and issue orientation. In the local election, as the voters are influenced by the local factions, traditional relationships and interpersonal relationship networks. In the end, this study also proposes valuable suggestions on voting orientation study limitations.
