Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 97 === This thesis first briefly introduces a new video coding standard compatible with H.264, Scalable Video Coding (SVC)[1], and introduces the details of the decoding flow. On the hardware side, in order to reduce the bandwidth of data access from external memory, this thesis proposed a new external memory allocated format. Thus the data can be continuously access to reduce the loading cycles. Base on the H.264 IP that has been implemented, we extended the IP with inter-layer prediction to support the SVC decoding flow. Additionally, the above proposed memory access method can help to achieved the goal to real time decoding.
