Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. The study sample consists of 344 students who provided consent for data linkage and were successfully linked to physical health examination and health related physical fitness database and questionnaire. Results: After adjustment of potential confounders, results of multiple linear regression showed that those with increased hours spending in internet browsing had a higher mean value of systolic blood pressure for male freshmen. Conclusion: The present study provides valuable information on college freshmen’ sedentary behaviors. Our findings highlight that those freshmen who spent too much time in internet browsing are important target populations for interventions aimed at preventing high blood pressure. However, further investigation is needed to explore whether such individuals could benefit from specific interventions to promote health. C. L. Li 李佳琳 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 57 |
