It explores the differences in job satisfaction caused by internal (individual) and external (environmental) factors. The subjects of this study are senior high school teachers who are currently teaching (or doubling as administrators) at public or private senior high schools in Middle Taiwan. This includes the regions of Taichung City, Taichung County, Chang-Hua County, Nan-Tou County, etc. Using stratified random sampling, eighteen teachers per school were selected to participate in the survey. They were given the original questionnaire titled “Job Satisfaction Survey for Senior High School Teachers in Middle Taiwan.” 720 questionnaires were administered with a response rate of 85%, or 614 copies. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, one way analysis of variance and Scheffe''s method. Conclusions are summarized below: Conclusions 1. Senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan are generally satisfied with their job. 2. The gender of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan does not cause a significant difference in the level of job satisfaction except in the areas of “Leadership of Principal,” “Salary and Benefits” and “Professional Development.” 3. The age of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan caused a significant difference in job satisfaction due to internal factors but not external factors. 4. The level of education of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan did not cause a significant difference in job satisfaction level except in the areas of “Leadership of Principal” and “Organizational Atmosphere.” 5. Marital status of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan did not cause a significant difference in job satisfaction level except in the areas of “Self-fulfillment” and “Development of Interests.” 6. Differing job functions of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan did not cause a significant discrepancy in job satisfaction except with regards to the internal factors of “Self-fulfillment,” “Meaning and Value,” and“Development of Interests” and the external factors of “Leadership of Principal,” and “Professional Development.” 7. The type of school did not make a significant difference in job satisfaction of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan except in the areas of “Leadership of Principal,” “Organizational Atmosphere,” and “Position and Promotion.” 8. The location of the school did not make a significant difference in job satisfaction of senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan except in the internal area of ‘Self-fulfillment” and the external area of “Professional Development.” 9. The size of the school did not have a significant impact on the level of job satisfaction for senior high school teachers in Middle Taiwan. none 林海清 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 137 zh-TW
