Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 土木工程研究所 === 97 === The structures of cable-stayed bridge and suspension bridge are similar to each other in their tension-member behaviors, but the structural behaviors of their deck are somehow different. In the suspension bridge, the deck is supported by intensively, vertical suspension cables that transfer the force to the cable; on the other hand, the deck of the cable-stayed bridge is supported by the pre-stressed cables, which can reduce and re-distribute the bending moments of the deck. This is similar to the pre-stress design, in which the deck can resist more external loads. Therefore, the cable-stayed bridge is a highly static, indeterminate-bridge type with simple mechanics rules, which is usually analyzed by high-speed computers in order to get a better design. In this study, a comprehensive review is made of the cable-stayed bridge, including a study of the cable-stayed bridge, the analysis, and a design case based on the codes. Additionally, a cable-stayed bridge is used as a study case to illustrate the static and dynamic behaviors. Finally, a discussion and recommendations are made. The analyses of the cable-stayed bridge were performed using TANGO and SAP2000 programs to investigate the structural behaviors of the bridge under the different load combinations, and to ensure that the case fit the design criterions
