Description
Summary:碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 網路與通訊研究所 === 97 === With application and development of wireless base station (BS), the next-generation mobility management will support media of diverse wireless transmission (for instance, WLAN, WiMAX and 3G etc.), with different transmission network access services. However, how to make mobile device management to achieve seamless handover under heterogeneous networks environment will become an important issue. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) established IEEE 802.21 working group in Feb. 2004, for solving the heterogeneous network handover problems. The main purpose of this working group was set up a standard for integrating heterogeneous network and providing efficiently vertical handover mechanism in heterogeneous IEEE 802 networks and cellular networks (call Media Independent Handover, MIH). Therefore, we will elaborate MIH’s vertical handover mechanism which could make mobile station (MS) have better performances on transmission and reduce packet loss, so that achieve the seamless handover when mobile device management under heterogeneous networks environment.
