碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 97 === Under comprehensive education reforms, school environment and intrinsic motivation of teachers have become important factors of creative teaching in visual arts curriculum of elementary school education. This study was aimed to investigate the relationship among school environment, intrinsic motivation of visual arts teachers, and their creative teaching. Questionnaire survey method was adopted. The employed instrument was “Questionnaire on the relationship among school environment, intrinsic motivation, and creative teaching”, and the subjects were 197 visual art teachers of elementary schools in Taichung City. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The research findings included: 1. Generally, the current school environment, intrinsic motivation, and creative teaching behaviors of visual art teachers were good. However, school environment could be further enhanced in the aspect of “teacher’s professional development”. 2. School environment, intrinsic motivation, and creative teaching were positively inter-correlated. 3. Fifth-grade visual art teachers outperformed third-grade ones in the aspect of “independent learning and challenge providing” of creative teaching. 4. In terms of motivation for “professional autonomy”, teachers with an education background of visual art outperformed those without, subject teachers outperformed homeroom teachers, and fifth-grade visual art teachers also outperformed third-grade ones. Finally, based on the research findings, suggestions were proposed for schools, educational institutions, teachers, and future researchers.
