碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 科技管理研究所 === 97 === This thesis mainly focuses on the exploration of the potential strategy of Taiwan RFID industry from perspectives of patent analysis. Since the amounts of RFID tags have been one of main factors to affect the enterprises to adopt the RFID systems, therefore, this thesis attempts to examine the RFID policies of United States and also analyze RFID patents owned by benchmark enterprises which are selected in this thesis. This research finds that not only Taiwan government should enhance the protection of RFID privacy for the public, but also Taiwan tag suppliers should break through the patent thicket generated by benchmark enterprises. After completing the Technology Effect Analysis of patents owned by U.S. and Taiwan tag suppliers, this research revealed that Taiwan tag suppliers have little patents on optimizing the manufacturing process and enhancing the reading range of tag. Both of them could affect the cost of tag significantly. In addition, this research finds that the key technologies of RFID chips were owned by the foreign enterprises, and therefore it also results in Taiwan enterprises not able to provide cheaper and better RFID tags.
