Description
Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 社會教育學研究所 === 97 === Abstract The purpose of this research is to study the participation of the elders of the Nanyang Free School in inquisition of the fine arts craft class curriculum including the motives, conditions and difficulties of their participation in fine arts and craft class as well as the changes or influences on themselves and their families, relatives and friends. The research adopts the qualitative methods, and the material collection is carried on one by one by the individual interviews. The eight interviewees chosen are mainly more than 60 years old, who once participated in the fine arts craft class curriculum in the Yilan County Nanyang Free School. Through the material analysis, we conclude and make the proposal as follows: Firstly, the motives of the elders’ participation in the Nanyang Free School fine arts craft class curriculum include individual interests, teachers’ introduction or invitation, and the attempts to learn the new experiences. Secondly, it’s about the learning condition of the elders’ participation in the Nanyang Free school fine arts craft class curriculum. At present the Nanyang free school has more than five classes of the fine arts and craft class. The teachers possess professional skills along with adequate compassion and patience. Moreover they are volunteers. The classrooms are rent free, but the expenses of the tools and materials are paid by the students. The class interval arrangement is appropriate. The transportation to school is taken care of by themselves. Students are divided into groups in class and the teacher-student interaction is good. The attendance rate of the students is high. The students are often encouraged by the teachers, and the class atmosphere is harmonious. Besides, exhibitions of their works are held on a regular basis. The third part is regarding the difficulties of the elders’ participation in the Nanyang Free School fine arts craft class curriculum for both the elderly students and the teachers. The teaching equipments of some classes are inefficient. Therefore it lacks comfortableness and the convenience. Some handouts compiled by the teachers may not be easy and clear enough to suit the elderly students and some of the chosen teaching materials may be costly to them. And the teachers must adjust the teaching progress or the methods at any time. They may need to spend extra time to teach an individual student to enable the individuals adapting themselves and coping with the learning differences in ability. Teachers need to adopt elaborately cooperative learning ways for the students to help each other and thus it builds a non-pressure and happy learning environment and helps to relieve the learning pressure and strengthens the relationship between teachers and students. And the fourth part is about the changes or influences upon the elders after they participated in the Nanyang Free School’s fine arts craft class curriculum. They are praised for their works, which helps them gain self-confidence and achievements, and enjoys the learning pleasure. It also enhances the life feeling of satisfaction, promotes esthetic sense and adopts the professional skills. In families, it improves the relationship among the family members, and produces the harmonious atmospheres. With friends, they can share the esthetic works, which enhances friendship and expand interpersonal relationships. According to the research analysis and results, a proposal is made as per the following several suggestions for reference. 1. Encouraging the elders to participate in the fine arts craft class related study curriculum is helpful to promote its life feeling of satisfaction. 2. More space and opportunities should be provided for the elders fine arts craft works to strengthen the news propaganda, and stimulate the elders to continue the creating activities. 3. A more suitable location and equipment should be provided for the elders that participate in the fine arts craft class curriculum to meet the teaching demands. 4. More effective propaganda should be applied to enable more elders to join the fine arts craft class.
