It is worthy to pay attention to explore how the various humor messages in the entertainment show on media to affect adolescent’s humor style. Aims: The purpose of this study is to realize the relationship of the adolescent’s humor style and received the humor message contents on media, and the moderate effects of the media literacy. Method: Data was obtained from the NSC project「The concept and style of humor among junior high school students in Taiwan: a study on the source of humor message and media literacy」.The instrument is a questionnaire which measure adolescent‘s humor message source and media literacy. Two-staged stratified random sampling and cluster sampling conducted to choose the study subjects from four areas in Taiwan. Five schools in each area and one class of each grade in a school were randomly selected. Total 1746 subjects were completed. Data analysis was used the descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis etc.. Conclusion: The humor styles were categorized into four factors: self-devalued, others-devalued, performance and intellect. It is significantly positive relationship among received the humor message more or less and adolescent humor style expression. Adolescents received the various humor messages, they also express the different humor style. When analysis the relationship of negative message received, media literacy and negative humor expression. It is negative correlation among media literacy and adolescent humor style expression, and media literacy had the moderate effect. According to the research results, it is proposed to encourage adolescents using positive humor style and enhances the ability of adolescents' media literacy .
