Stable political situation, prosperous economy, possession of natural resources, and peaceful society of multiple cultures make Malaysia an emerging and potential star in eyes of the foreign investment. There have been about 2,000 investments from Taiwan in Malaysia. Taiwan’s become one of the main foreign investment powers. The purpose of this research is to know the present situation of motor industry in Taiwan and Malaysia, the motives and entry strategies of Taiwanese motor companies to Malaysian market, the factors that affect the entry strategies and how they affect. To understand the factors, this study will use six dimensions (target country market, target country environment, target production, home country, company product, and company resource) to measure the influence. And Companies have four entry strategies to choose: export, strategy alliances, joint venture, and wholly-owned. The result shows that the motives of Taiwanese motor companies to Malaysian market is to approach new customers, upgrade the technology level, low labor and production cost, local government favor policies, and for ASEAN. The factors to affect entry strategies are market potential, industry competition, sales channel situation, production cost, experience of local operation, ability to provide best price and production spot, and motor BU is the core in business group. At last, this study makes suggestions. Companies should investigate how much resource and strength on hand. If not good enough, it could be work out that be strategy alliance with local famous company. After cooperation for a period, if the profit and market potential are good, companies of both can try deeper cooperation, like exchange company stocks or joint venture.
