碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 織品服裝學系 === 97 === This thesis adopts “Qualitative research” and “Narrative inquiry” method doing a “Life History” case study. A dialogue style “A Feminine Clothing Life Story” and a novel “The Vocalist Shen Xue-yong Life Story” are written. Depth interview and interaction conversation being done, topics are base on the client’s worn clothing pictures and client’s other correlation clothing document. Interview was recording and translates unto words and lines as “A Feminine Clothing Life Story”, that is “the field texts”. “The field texts” comparison with client 1929-1995 life span and social background contexts deduce clothing and contexts significant meaning , that is “the research texts”. Finally using “Clothing presents style multiple functions” model, examines those “the field text” and “the research text”, from the clothing materiality, clothing social function, the clothing as self image molding function and which intercross connection, deduce and annotate theses interaction, the evolutions characteristic, and “the clothing function level” significances. The “Clothing presents style multiple functions” model, can be effective explanation: clothing/dressing is having“the clothing natural function/self image molding function/social function”, these three functions respectively are: 1. clothes natural function: clothing style, color, material; 2. clothing as self-image molding functions: clothing and self-awareness, esthetic consciousness, values, status identity; 3. clothing social/culture functions: society influence clothing fashion, social role and position, interpersonal interaction and social atmosphere. And compares the datum of client's life span and the stage, deduces the clothing multi-level significances, thus help to understand the clothing, individual and society's interaction relations.
