Description
Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 中國文學系碩士班 === 97 === Chapter one discussed the research motive. Unlike psychoanalytic therapy by Freud which emphasizes on sub-consciousness, logotherapy by Frankl emphasizes on pursuing and creating life value. This concept harmonizes with Mencius philosophy. Therefore, investigation is carried out to distinguish both conceptions throughout the study. Chapter two is based on the philosophy of logotherapy by Frankl, which firstly introduces the profile of Frankl, especially the experiences in Nazi’s concentration camp. Thus, logotherapy is based on life and death experiences rather than impractical ideas. It then goes on about introducing the content of the theory. Chapter three concludes physical and psychological therapy by Mencius argument through literatures. Chapter four compares and contrasts physical and psychological therapy by Mencius argument with philosophy of logotherapy by Frankl. Moreover, the chapter analyzes the differences and similarity. Through this discussion there are coincidences between the concepts by western Frankl and Chinese Mencius, thus, this can serve as theoretical support of physical and psychological therapy by Mencius. After all, the study of the Mencius is not based on physical and psychological therapy, thus without any theoretical support, it may be deemed as inappropriate. However, since the argument will be harmonized with the clinical record of logotherapy by Frankl, the physical and psychological therapy by Mencius argument is appropriate in theory. Moreover, Mencius philosophy is profound, going thoroughly the Confucianism in Chinese history for the past two thousand years; therefore, it is as significant as logotherapy.
