During the manufacture of production, it is required to maintain the stable quality to fit in the need of the market, so that the products are able to survive, grow and complete with this environment. QFD, Quality Function Development, is a developing tool that transfers customer’s quality requirement into designing elements. It can ensure the stable quality during manufacturing process and enhance the quality of production at the same time. However, some of the quality need are produced by personal subjective thoughts. This leads to the gray meanings of producing examination principles. Most of the operation of QFD adopts numerical indication which is limited easily in practical application. Therefore, it is aim to develop a gray area of QFD to solve this weakness so as to have more complete and accurate QFD model in this research. By using the participation of employees of the departments, customers need is transferred into project distinction. In the process of each transaction, the House of Quality will connect the customer need and goal, and the project distinction will indicate the corresponding relationship between the need and goal. The gray area between those two will be quantified through gray theory and sorted the important orders of project distinction in gray blocks. The development in gray blocks of QFD not only ensures the quality of production but also find out the sorting of project distinction. It provides decision makers the references for production design and development and enhance the efficiency of research and development design as well.
