Leisure Participation, Leisure Constraints and Leisure Satisfaction of the Youths: A Study from Aboriginal Arts Classes in Taiwan

碩士 === 開南大學 === 觀光與餐飲旅館學系 === 97 === Using questionnaire survey, the research was to explore the leisure participation, leisure constraints and leisure satisfaction of the youths from aboriginal arts classes in Taiwan. A sample of 254 aboriginal students from Jin-shan High School in Taipei, Shu-Lin Senior High School, Tamkang High School, Kuan-Shan Vocational Senior High School in Taitung and Taitung Senior High School high schools with aboriginal arts program completed self-report questionnaire with five-point Likert scale. The data was further computed by SPSS for Windows 13.0 and LISREL 8.72 program. The main findings indicate the most popular activities that these aboriginal students participate are watching television, listening to radio or music and surfing the internet. Otherwise, they seldom take part in mountain climbing or swimming. Their leisure constraints as found, in sequent, are money, time, and family attitudes. Also they are most satisfied with social and relaxing benefits associating with leisure satisfaction. Further, personal characteristics, such as sex, grade, monthly family income, are seen differencing separately with leisure participation, leisure constraints and leisure satisfaction. Moreover, it is found leisure participation positively correlating with leisure constraints and leisure satisfaction; however, leisure constraints negatively correlating with leisure satisfaction. Finally, by Structural Equation Modeling, it is found that upon leisure satisfaction, leisure participation has a positive effect; by contrast, leisure constraints has a negative one.
