Residential/Commercial customers had 17% of total electricity consumption and the air condition load consume more than 1/3 electricity. Thus supply usually not enough, it is thus clear that the air condition economy energy saving policy has already become importance issue. This study mainly discusses both theoretical and practical differences between screw chiller unit with fixed speed (FS) and variable frequency drive (VFD) respectively. The research uses a full liquid type chiller set's difference as the single VFD type compressor、the twin compressor(FS+ VFD) and the single FS type compressor. According to the ARI 550/590-2003 of the standard condition carry on a test. Carry on an income data regression analysis. Moreover, economize on energy and invest recall analysis by DOE-2(imitate office building load). The research shows that EER for IPLV of VFD and VFD/FS are 6.165 and 5.59 and they are higher EER for than IPLV of FS with 4.73. Also join the operation expenses into the beginning to place cost to calculate out each a combination of the air condition electricity charges estimate and recall time limit. Hope to build up an economy valuation model for variable frequency chiller in this way. After estimating invest recall time limit about is the 1/2 of the machine set service life. Hopefully, such model and analysis of the experiment could be regarded as an efficient technique applied into actual units, and furthermore, would provide chiller units with not simply deeper discussion but also more efficient solution to the goal of energy saving.
