In this study, through the application of the theory of social representations, and in order to place the residents of the research-based angle, an analysis method is used for Document Analysis to gain an interpretation of the activities of the "Wannian Folklore Festival" and in the social context of the Old Town Area of Zuoying. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and a questionnaire survey. The valid surveys were 365 and the response rate was 96%. The descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, principal component analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, and the chi-square test, were used to analyze the diversity of the data collected. Results of this study have been divided into “residents”, "outsider", "full support", "rational opposed" three clusters. By way of a statistical analysis, this research discovered that residents of a personal nature and distribution of the cluster correlation; residents of different clusters on Impacts of the event have affected the perceptions of differences; residents of different personal attributes, a different place of residence and where the location of the different characteristics of human geography, with regard to a place identity arising from the land and culture.
