The objective of merger and acquisition is to become a larger financial integrated services group. In recent years, there are some merger and acquisition cases without precedent in the global financial industry history. There are some overall and individual effects resulted. Some of them are positive effects while there are negative ones too. Therefore, this research introduced case study in analyzing the synergy of multinational bank merger and acquisition by focusing on the merger and acquisition case of Citicorp and Traveler’s Group. Hopefully, the findings of this research are to be made as the reference for merger and acquisition synergy and the upgrade of comprehensive competitiveness of Taiwan financial industry. This research studies on the inspiration and coping strategies of Taiwan financial industry in responding to the merger and acquisition of Citicorp and Traveler’s Group. The research findings are explained as follow: 一、 To urge the restructure of national finance industry merger and acquisition, to carry out vertical integration. 二、 Loosen the financial regulation in an appropriate degree, encourage Taiwan financial industry moves towards “mixed operation” conglomerate operation. 李陳國 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 123 zh-TW
