Description
Summary:碩士 === 嶺東科技大學 === 數位媒體設計研究所 === 97 === Computer Game is the favorite of young students, and the network game is extremely loved by them. The chatting topic of students in spare time is often the experience of network games, which reflects the charm of it. It is therefore a challenging and valuable work to draw students’ interests to study by taking good use of computers and network games. Taiwan is an island with a long range of latitudes, whose area is about 360,000 square kilometers (14,400 square miles), crossing the tropics and subtropics. It has four clear seasons, wonderful and plenty of great scenes, which creates a unique ecosystem. And this ecosystem is the most precious wealth of Taiwan. This research focuses on the computer game with multiple challenging levels, which guides the gamers to learn ecosystem-related knowledge during the gaming experience. The game applies 2D and 3D techniques, and guides students to learn the knowledge unconsciously with the design of the ecologic garden and lovely animals. The design and development of this game includes four systemic processes: analysis, design, development and evaluation. First, we collect knowledge of the related animals and their characteristics by domain experts interview, questionnaire survey and related document investigation. After completing the design of the ecosystem-learning game“Wind beneath my Wings”, the feasibility and fun of the design is evaluated with questionnaire, observing records. The result proves the success of the systematic design pipeline for assisting the design of the educational game of ecosystem learning. The learning motivation of children is strengthened due to the game level design and lovely design of animal characters. Furthermore, this thesis also discusses about the process and results of systematic game design.
