The algal biomass constitutes the highest percent and accounts for 73% of the total biomass energy potential. With carbon at the price of US$20/ tCO2-eq, the potential for the reduction of carbon is 2.98 million tons CO2-eq/yr; with US$50/ tCO2-eq, the potential for reduction of carbon is 4.1 million tons CO2-eq/yr; with US$100/ tCO2-eq, the potential for reduction of carbon is 9.14 million tons CO2-eq/yr.Using algae could solve the issue of the cost and conversion efficiency of energy, increase the potential for very substantial production capacity, and effectively reduce the 99.1 million tons of greenhouse gases CO2-eq/yr. The results of this study will contribute to the understanding of the potential of biomass energy in our country and create incentives to fully develop effective policies.
