According to the results of experiments, the curved pier footing has the best efficacy of almost no scour under low flow rate condition. When under high flow rate condition, curved pier footing also provides more than 15% resistant ability to local scour. As the result, curved pier footing is proved that it can successfully reduce the local scour at pier foundation due to its resistant ability to down flow and horseshoe vortex.
