| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 藝術研究所 === 97 === Great changing hurriedly has happened to the modern Chinese society, and the art history has rewritten the new title page. The phenomenon that Early-Ching Four-Wang′s paintings dominates of the painting circles exclusively was turned back in this period. Wu Hu-Fan (1894-1968) who in a turbulent period of history, his painting was from traditional Chinese Literati Painting of Southern School. But he innovate a new style different from traditional Chinese Painting on the eventually. On the skill and technique at first, he have displayed the cloud and mist of the similar Western Watercolor. In addition , he have developed Chinese Painting with Ci which is full of individual characteristic on the style. In the past, Chinese Painting with Ci has created by someone, but the amount and variety were less than Wu Hu-Fan. We can say that he has combined literature and art under the traditional Chinese culture, and found a new feature which is different from convection.
With Wu Hu-Fan for the example, we can know the development of modern Chinese Literati Painting does not necessarily learn from the west totally and abandon its own character. It can absorb the essence of traditional culture, and then transform to the moving poems. Chinese Painting with Ci and Chinese Painting with Poem in tradition have a bit of difference on the style. Chinese Painting with Ci are softer on the feature and more vacant in the space than Chinese Painting with Poem. Chinese Painting with Ci can express the mood on the functionality, it does not state only. This characteristic was elucidated completely in Wu Hu-Fan’s Chinese painting with Ci.
