| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 中國語文學系 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to analyze the interpretations in Qian Mu's New Annotation on Analects of Confucius(論語新解) to find out the interpretative approach which combined studies of the literature(辭章), Yi-Li(義理), and the evidential research(考據), and figure out the advantages, the defects, its value, and the limits in his real execution. It is expected that this analysis could help other scholars objectively appraise New Annotation on Analects of Confucius.
This thesis consists of five chapters: Chapter One, Introduction, describes the motive and the meanings of this research, reviewing other scholars’ studies of Qian Mu's works in Analects of Confucius in the past, and explaining the study methods and the structure of this thesis. Chapter Two, Qian Mu’s manipulation of the concept of The Literature of Analects of Confucius, the author clarifies Qian Mu’s view among the literature, Yi-Li, and the evidential research, and analyzing his real execution of the interpretation in Analects of Confucius; then generalizing the interpretations about literature in New Annotation on Analects of Confucius to depict Qian Mu’s manipulation of the concept of The Literature of Analects of Confucius. Chapter Three, Qian Mu's Analyzing of Ci-Qi(辭氣) of Analects of Confucius, the author discusses the meaning of Ci-Qi, and its relationship with the literature, Yi-Li, and the evidential research. Through the analyzing of Ci-Qi, it could help clarify the real meaning of articles; then the author expresses Qian Mu's analyzing of Ci-Qi of Analects of Confucius through the interpretations in New Annotation on Analects of Confucius. Capter Four, The Comparisons Between Qian Mu’s and Zhu Xi’s(朱熹) interpretations of Yi-Li of Analects of Confucius, the author tries to compare Qian Mu’s New Annotation on Analects of Confucius with Zhu Xi’s “Collected Annotations on the Analects(論語集注)” to persuade the former’s features to stand out. After progressively investigating the differences between Qian’s and Zhu’s interpretations of Yi-Li of Analects of Confucius, the author indicates the differences are not only in their understandings of Analects of Confucius, but also whether they thought that Confucius had metaphysical thoughts or not, which is concerned with the evidential research of the times that “Yi Zhuan(易傳)” and “Zhong Yong(中庸)” had been written and their thoughts. Therefore, after comparing Qian’s and Zhu’s interpretations of Xing and Tiandao(性與天道,natural disposition and the way), the author also analyzes their viewpoints of Confucius’ metaphysical thoughts. Chapter Five, Conclusion, the author generalizes and analyses the interpretative approach which combines studies of the literature, Yi-Li, and the evidential research, and the advantages, the defects, its value of New Annotation on Analects of Confucius, and the deserved appraise and position in the interpretation history of Analects of Confucius.
