In this aspect, the concept of “diversity” is usually used to improve the reliability of transmission. Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) wireless systems employing maximal ratio transmission/combining (MRT/MRC) can obtain the best spatial diversity gain and power gain at the transmitter/receiver. In this thesis, we discuss the statistics of the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for three imperfect transmission scenarios, i.e., the inclusion of co-channel interference, imperfect channel estimation, or antenna correlation, respectively, in MIMO MRT/MRC systems. On one hand, we analyze the performance of multiuser diversity with scheduling under Rayleigh fading channel fluctuation in MIMO MRT/MRC systems. On the other hand, we analyze the performance of the case that the MIMO MRT/MRC technique is applied to MIMO relay systems, in which the relay with the best channel will be selected for message forwarding. Some insight into how the spatial, multiuser and cooperative diversities affect the error-rate performance is obtained. Yinman Lee 李彥文 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 62 zh-TW
