However, there were very few research related to the karaoke, especially the middle-ages and the elders participants. The purposes of this study were to understand the middle-ages and the elders’ karaoke participants’ participating status of karaoke, socio-demographical differences among the leisure motivation, leisure involvement and leisure benefits, and the relationships among leisure motivation, involvement, and benefits. The researcher conducted the study by quantitative research method. The research tool was a closed-ended questions survey that was developed with good validity and reliability. According to purposive sampling method, the objectives of the study were Taipei County karaoke adults who were 40 years old and older. A total of 224 valid on-site surveys were completed and the response rate was 80%. The results indicated that there were positive relationships among leisure motivation, leisure involvement and leisure benefits. Middle-age and the elder karaoke participants who had high leisure motivation had high level of leisure involvement. Also, those who had high level of leisure involvement tended to have high leisure benefits. Through higher level of involvement, the middle-ages and the elders may have higher leisure benefits and may enrich their quality of lives. Suggestions for the government, policy shall be proposed to manage and encourage the social leisure activities for middle-ages and the elders. For the karaoke company, designing and planning the karaoke space to be more socialized for friends and family can be more favored for the participants. For the future research, the researcher suggests to study different ages’ karaoke participants and different districts or countries’ karaoke participants. Future researchers can also investigate the karaoke by qualitative research method and may use direct observation for more in-depth findings.
