Questionnaire survey method was applied in this study. The questionnaires were formally used on junior high school teachers of Taichung County and the results were analyzed by statistical methods. The information from open opinions was also collected. The conclusions of the study were as follows: 1.Teachers agreed with the notion of the evaluation, but tended to disagree with the evaluation measures because of the influences caused from interpersonal relationship and the lack of equitableness. 2.Teachers considered that the evaluation should be put emphasis on the formative purposes and assisted with the summative purposes. 3.Teachers approved that the order to perform teacher evaluation was: a. self-evaluation b. evaluated by teams which were formed by school staff. And teachers disapproved of the method “evaluated by students”. 4.Teachers tended to agree to list “class management and counselling” , “teachers’ further education” and “good working attitude” into the evaluation items, but disagreed with the item “students’ academic achievement”. 5.Teachers of younger age and lower seniority, and those who hold the post as school administrative personnel, tended to agree with the measures and contents of teacher evaluation.
