Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 應用物理研究所 === 97 === In this study, we have two objectives: 1.Building a novel ion soft landing mass spectrometer that can mass-select huge biomolecules and nanoparticles in the gas phase. 2. Using the Charge detector to detect the total numbers of ions trapped in rectilinear Ion trap (RIT). The instrument has been operated with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization ion source; the major components are first quadrupole ion guide, a 90-degree bent square quadrupole that prevents deposition of fast neutral molecules onto the landing surfaces, and a novel rectilinear ion trap mass analyzer. Simion simulation study of this ion soft landing instrument shows the transmission of ions at m/z 10,000 is 100%, However, when the m/z value is up to 100,000, it lowers to about 40%. The mass spectrum of C60 ions can be analyzed by RIT-MS with a mass resolution ~700. In the future, we will use this instrument to perform high mass ion soft landing experiment.
