Thus they can continually cultivate and create new knowledge in a rapidly changing environment of technology and so strengthen their organization’s core competence. As for our armed forces have been extensively doing manpower streamlining and organization reforming in recent years, whether the professional maintenance knowledge of military aeronautic engines can be effectively passed down is an important task relative to air safety. This study uses case study method, performs in-depth interview, on-site observation and collects related data and analyze accordingly, so as to understand the present status of each case unit in promoting knowledge management, the distribution condition of knowledge gap and the compensation strategy. This study uses the knowledge management analysis skill submitted by Hall and Andriani in 2002 as the main research framework. By collecting each case unit’s definition of vision, feature of innovation and so forth, and discuss a series of knowledge natures, knowledge gaps, risk analyses and strategy weakness analyses, it obtains the following results: It is found that when promoting knowledge management, the insufficient knowledge of each case unit can often be replaced by the tacit knowledge of an outside company, so introduction of technique and collaborative development are adopted to gain the knowledge. Thus if the goal of knowledge management is set to decrease the ratio of internal tacit knowledge and to increase the compiling of knowledge documents, due to the lack of a good knowledge sharing system, the related maintenance experience will have difficulty to be passed down and last, which results in a constrained capability of developing and integrating innovative maintenance skill. And it is also hard to make a breakthrough Therefore, when introducing knowledge management, any organization should not only be devoted to decrease the ratio of tacit knowledge and increase the scale of compiling knowledge documents but value the incentive and reward mechanism, and enhance organization’s efficiency and improve the process as well. Furthermore, when an organization introduces outside technique or implements new knowledge through collaborative development method, the follow-up knowledge management and pass-on should also be taken seriously.
