Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 科技藝術研究所 === 97 === With the time vicissitude, events, exhibitions, and news stories related to toy design, this trend has become the focus of our lives with difference concepts. Due to the trend for collecting toy design in recent years, there are few relevant studies on toy design. In addition, Kansei Engineering is paid more attention to practical product designs. This research, as such, combines toy design with Kansei Engineering in order to perform quantitative methodologies to explore the relationship between the consumers’ perception and the toys’ form design. The result of this research has summarized design principles for further studies. The procedure of this research is as follows: (1) Basic research – collecting the samples of toys and Kansei images, and classifying the design elements on visual morphological factors. (2) Main research – conducting a survey on Kansei images, and examining the relationships between Kansei images and visual morphological factors. (3) Verification research – building prediction models based on the result of Procedure 2, main research, and then evaluating the performance of the prediction models for the new samples. Finally, the design principles and suggestions of different Kansei images are carried out. The conclusions of this research are shown as follows: 1. Relationship between Kansei images and visual morphological factors of toy design with all of the subjects. The result shows that there is a higher correlation between Kansei images and “length ratio of head and body”, “size of extremities”, and “head form design”. It indicates that toy designers can focus on the more important visual design factors when designing toys’ form design. 2. Comparing the difference of Kansei images on toys’ form design between subjects with art and non-art backgrounds. The result shows that there is a slight consistency in terms of visual morphological factors for the “cute” image, but not for the other five images. In addition, the “length ratio of head and body” factor has higher correlation with “cool”, “creative”, and “interesting” images respectively. The initial concepts of toy design usually rely on designers’ experience, knowledge, skills, and design abilities. By the assistances of computers, design principles not only provide more ideas for designers, help designers deal with the product features, reduce the design period, and gain greater efficiency, but also switch one-way design from designers to consumers to two-way communication for specific toy design matching consumers’ psychological demands. The result of this research provides design principles and suggestions for designers on further toy design and innovation.
