Those interfaces are mainly attached and computed on the table or a surface in plane image for live performance. As the interaction of sound and image is augmented on reality space to emphasis the immersion, there should be more possible operations and moving images on three-dimension space. On the basis of those applications, differs to the former computer interfaces, a digital sound interaction interface is designed to analyze users experience for further AR research. The prototype Interface integrate the image processing, 3D interaction and digital sound using ARtoolkit, Virtools, and Pure Data; The evaluation methods includes focus group, inspired by heuristic evaluation to improve usability, and then field observation.
The evaluation reports that users are used to adapt the two-dimension platform, thus the three-dimension space has the capacity for visual feedback. Users have no significant difficulty on the tangible interaction and the visual feedback of the interface. From the result, most of the users imply they can understand how to operate and achieve the work purpose. The virtual image and real time sound interaction can help users to comprehend the digital sound process; the real time interaction of the interface allows users easily to try and learn.
