Interactive technology has greatly increased the possibilities of art.
It is commonly believed that technical art in Taiwan would be highly competitive at global level thanks to the successful digital industry thriving during the past decades. This thesis observes the growth of digital art in Taiwan through literature analysis and interviews with key persons in this business. This study probes the policy and encouragement by both the public and private sectors and looks into the deficiency and problematique of the development of digital art in Taiwan.
Governmental policy and governmental endowment for digital art events, international exchange and the foundation of digital art institutes are investigated. Funds, awards and educational programs sponsored by enterprises are also discussed.
In the conclusion, this study analyzes the crucial factors dominating the growth of digital art in Taiwan and boldly draws a future picture of it.
