At that time, I felt embarrassed when I was not good at computer skill. Therefore, I think students in university should pay as much attention on their major as computer related lessons. Moreover, I found that there are few researches which explore computer skill for Japanese majors. Since learning computer skill is important, it is worth to pay heed to it. The method of data collection is through gathering the syllabi on websites of each university. This study aims to elaborate the condition of computer related courses delivered by each school, to comprehend the subject matter of each course, to compare the differences of courses delivering between general universities and technology universities, and to provide suggestion for course designing. The major findings are as follows: 1. Computer related courses delivered in these universities could be divided into three categories, an introduction to computer, word processing, and multimedia application on computer. 2. The 20 general universities, 15 universities delivered computer courses as obligatory for freshmen while of the 15 technology universities, 9 universities delivered computer courses as obligatory for freshmen. 3. The total credit points of computer related courses delivered by departments of applied Japanese in general universities doubled that of departments of Japanese in regular universities. Furthermore, the total credit points of computer related courses delivered by departments of applied Japanese in technology universities are 20 more than that of department of Japanese in technology universities. 4. The 20 general universities, 7 universities only delivered one computer related course. However, of the 15 technology universities, only 3 universities delivered one computer related course. In addition, most of the 15 technology universities delivered more than three computer related courses. Shu-hua Yeh 葉淑華 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 110
