Since the middle-level managers act as superordinate and subordinate while displaying leader/follower behavior simultaneously, middle-level managers may possess comprehensive technology ability and experience. As the measurement of expected capabilities of middle-level managers from the perspective of entry- and middle-level managers was investigated and the approach of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was adopted. Business Logistics Management (BLM) framework was considered as an expected middle-level management capabilities, which integrated three major aspects namely business, logistics, and management. To simplify the items of BLM, Delphi method was adopted. Entry-level and middle-level orientations both are considered and compared for the analysis of middle logisticians qualifications. When it comes to the perspectives of entry- and middle-level managers respectively, there is no significant difference between the importances of items. Entry logisticians considered management skill as the most important skill of middle-level managers while middle logisticians putted logistics skill on the first place. To evaluate the importance rank of each skill items, weight of each skill items are obtained and considered. According to the perspective of entry logisticians, middle logisticians should attach importance to the interpersonal skills. Furthermore, middle logisticians represented that middle logisticians should give more weight to the skills of the operating. Our study suggests that middle logisticians should make more efforts in the logistics skill, management skill, and interpersonal skills while conducting operations. Findings presented in this study may be offered as a principle for the skill requirements for the middle logisticians. Chen-Cheng Chen 陳珍珍 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 85 zh-TW
