description 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 地理學系 === 97 === This research uses Geographic Information System to make a study of Long Term Care Facilities in Taiwan. It infers the distribution characteristics of the Long Term Care Facilities with the drawing of the map and the analysis of space. It also tries to find out how social and economic factors in different areas affect the numbers of the beds. As for the information which is not quantifiable, it is studied through the documents and materials. Along with the increasing of the senior, Taiwan has become one of aging society. As a result, the government pays more and more attention to the quantity and distribution space of the Long Term Care Facilities. In addition, the Long Term Care Facilities is much different from the common commercial organization. It is closely connected to the relevant medical institute. After probing into and analyzing the space distribution, the characteristic of the whole Long Term Care Facilities distribution is presented. The thesis carries out the research on space distribution and comparison of the proportion of resource of the Long Term Care Facilities in all counties and cities, by selecting and measuring the data materials that the resource is needed as well as the relevant research in the past. It adopts the ratio of the aging population and the number of the beds in all counties and cities as the index to measuring the proportion of nursing resources. The results show that the nursing resources are not averagely distributed not only in counties and cities but also in villages and towns. However, there is no obvious evidence that illustrates the resources is more emphasized in the northern Taiwan. Analyzing from GIS, most of the Long Term Care Facilities are close to the first-class and second-class hospitals; that is, the Long Term Care Facilities cluster in some cities and towns which have better convenience and functions. Moreover, because of the uneven phenomenon on the medical resource space in Taiwan, the space distributing type of the Long Term Care Facilities is thus influenced. This research only discusses the first-class and second-class medical institutes while there are still the third-class medical institutes. With the hierarchical system of hospitals and the progress of the traffic system in Taiwan, there is still a lot for further study on the Long Term Care Facilities. At the end of the chapter, the research uses “height” to carry on exploration analysis, finding out that most of the Long Term Care Facilities are distributed between 0 and 1000 meters high. The research selects five social and economic factors to discuss the correlation of the quantity of the Long Term Care Facilities and the social and economic status in different counties and cities. It uses Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation to test the correlation of the numbers of beds, the bed resources, and the social and economic status in different counties and cities. Meanwhile, it uses regression analysis to analyze the correlation of resources of the Long Term Care Facilities and social and economic status in different counties and cities. The research finds out that there is no obvious difference in eastern and western Taiwan. Nevertheless, the research shows that in the area where people have higher education and might be more likely to accept the Long Term Care Facilities, when considering what the Long Term Care Facilities to choose, people tend to take the diversity of nursing resources into account. As a result, this thesis infers that in these five metropolises, Hsinchu , Taichung , Kaohsiung , Tainan and Taipei, the arrangement of the proportion of nursing resources need adjustment and improvement in the future. Also, the government has to integrate the resources before it distributes the nursing resources among the counties and cities in order to obtain better economic benefits.
