Abstract
Recently, a lot of studies pay much attention on the relationship between work stress and organizational commitment of policemen in Taiwan. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between work stress and organizational commitment of policemen in Kaohsiung city, and also, examined these two factors as they related to the demographic variables. Questionnaire was used in this study and the response rate was 89.53%. The results of this study indicated:
1.There were significant differences between policemen’s demographic variables, work stress and organizational commitment.
2.There was a significant relationship between policemen’s work burden and organizational commitment.
3.There was a significant relationship between policemen’s role conflict and organizational commitment.
4.There was a significant relationship between policemen’s personal development and organizational commitment.
5.There was a significant relationship between policemen’s family conflict and organizational commitment.
