The study adopts multiple cases, and the targets involved were two male students and one female student studying at the medium grades of primary school. These three students experienced ten times, eight times and seventeen times of play therapy units respectively. The research results are as follows: 1. In the aspect of verbal behaviors The verbal contents of the children with tendency towards depression changed from a description of negative feelings towards living to an alternate description of positive and negative feelings towards living. Finally, their verbal contents appeared to be of more positive or objective descriptions, and their verbal expression patterns tended to change from passive to active. 2. In the aspect of non-verbal behaviors In the beginning of play therapeutic period, all these three children with tendency towards depression had repetitive behaviors. After their repetitive behaviors disappeared, there appeared the adjustment of playing ways and regulative behaviors for different lengths of time in the subsequent playing behaviors. Finally, the behavior of game adjustment disappeared, and the non-verbal behaviors of the children turned to be confident, elastic and determined. 3. In the aspect of mediating playing materials The three children with tendency towards depression have a very great difference in the use of mediating materials. They were dissimilar to the verbal or non-verbal behaviors that have obvious short-term or consistent situation. 4. Contents of game and change of subject In the early stage of play therapeutic period, the playing contents of the children with tendency towards depression are mainly the repetitive games. Mainly through playing, their internal situations are reflected, and their internal issues are handled to release their emotion. In the middle stage of play therapy, the playing contents of these three children had a high proportion of competitive games and the games with a sense of attack. During this time, the themes of games still have a part of them containing a sense of emotional release. The children started to have self-observation, self-guidance and self-evaluation from the experience of suppressing their feelings in the play therapy. In the last stage of play therapy, the sense of attack of the children and the proportion of competitive games were gradually decreased, but with a gradual increase in emotional games and creative games. Therefore, from these games, the children presented their self-ascertaining, and their own abilities. The study proposes concrete suggestions according to the research results, intending to give a reference for the future researchers and practical workers who are interested in the issue.
