The HDMI transceivers were formed by hybrid integration of the semiconductor laser, photo detectors, multi-mode fibers (MMF) on Si optical bench using V-groove and U-groove structures. Using V-groove structures, we were able to passively align semiconductor lasers to MMFs and MMFs to photo detectors with accurate precision.
