The Effect of Auricular Acupressure for children on Myopia

In this study, seventy-two schoolchilds were recruited in Taiwan. In this case, vision will be used is screening eligibility criteria, currently set at: 0.9 and above the normal seven-year-old ,the E font visual chart was used as a screening test for Myopia. Each experimental group(n =39) will be given the auricular pellet acupressure treatment for 12 weeks, in which every participate was asked to do 20 times each acupoint compression on the ear Kidney point, the Eyes point, and the Eyes₂ point , applying in the morning and afternoon, and changing to the other side of the ear every Monday. The control group (n = 39) did not receive any intervention. The meridian systems were recorded for both groups’ pre-and post-study. the E font visual chart and meridian values were measured at the 12th weeks. There are 72 subjects completed in this study. Binocular vision of the experimental group (n = 39) was significantly less than that of the control group (n = 33) at the 12th weeks (all p < 0.05). The meridian values of the experimental group（The lung, pericardium, small intestine, triple burner, large intestine, liver,stomach, etc.7 Meridians）decreased significantly at the 6th and12th weeks when compared with the control group pre-study. (p < 0.05). At 12th weeks, meridian value in experimental group（The lung, pericardium, heart, small intestine, triple burner, large intestine, spleen, liver, kidney ,bladder,gall bladder, stomach, etc. 12 Meridians） decreased significantly different from that of the pre- study experimental group (p <0.05). Auricular pellet acupressure treatment improves the E font visual chart and has a transient effect on the meridian in schoolchild with Myopia
