This study sampled 432 elementary students (males=222; females= 210) with mean age of 11.65 (SD=0.47) years. With t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis, this study found following results: (a) there are several significant group differences on physical fitness and physical self high active in terms of their demographic backgrounds; (b) there are positive relationships among physical fitness, physical self and self esteem;(c) physical self partially mediated the relationship between fitness and self-esteem through. This study concluded that regularly participating in physical activity is not only facilitate children’s fitness but also beneficial to their self concept.
