Of the Art History of Taiwan, there have been many researches by experts and scholars on native artists after abolishment of Martial Law, but rarely touched on artists who are women who work with Ink Paintings. Therefore, this research paper attempts to adopt the method of Qualitative Research through the means of Literature Review and Semi-structured interview presenting Taiwan artists who are women of Ink Paintings creation in a comprehensive framework. This research paper adopts the common pattern used by feminist art history to explore the different developmental stages of feminist art theory and discuss how Taiwan social structure has influence the art creation of feminist artists, hence to restore the their historical status and social value through Ink Paintings creation under the Patriarchal society; on the other hand exploring how 3 feminist artists Hsiu-chung Liang, Ciung-hua Wu and Wei -ying Hsu, from different generation present their awareness of gender issue through their works using female imageries, investigating the role of artist and its gender, understanding the possible influence it has between feminism and Ink Paintings. Through the research, it was discovered that the appeal of “Gender Equality” fought by feminists in the past has been replaced by “Gender Respect” which is to respect the existential values. Since Japanese Occupation, the development of Taiwan artists who are women were restricted by the conditions from family, economics and education, resulting the lack of concentration in their art creations; a century later, with the Taiwanese Women’s Liberation movement, female creatives finally show up with their talents and established the Genealogy of Taiwan artists who are women. Only household affairs bonds artists who are women but marriages and child bearing have become the subject matters of creation that differ from male artists. The portrait subject matter works of Hsiu-chung Liang, Ciung-hua Wu and Wei -ying Hsu were inspired from their own living experience, through their process of self searching, it’s like the miniature of the feminist art history. Feminism has subtly influence contemporary water ink creations of feminine artists unobtrusively and imperceptibly. As this paper examines artists who are women’ water ink creation under long period of scrutiny, it reveals the changes of feminist independence through different generations. They establish their own creation space progressively in spite of the external environmental restriction and proceed to self dialogue and debate during their own creation, which not only set up the examples of Aesthetics but also provides multi-aspects for Ink Paintings.
