Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 特殊教育學系教學碩士班 === 97 === This study adopts the narrative inquiry method to discuss a visually impaired child who got President Educational Award in ten years old, and the process of his parents nurture him. From the way of the parents told their life story, I reconstructed their life history of they nurtured and educated their visually impaired child. There are three purposes of this study. First, to find out the initial- stage psychological feeling and behavior reaction of the parents when they faced the fact that a new born baby with visul impairment in their family. Second, to find out the process of parents'' mental adaptation during his growth stage. Third, to find out what factored the manifestation of music talent of this visually impaired child. It found that when their baby suffered ocular disease at infancy stage, the parents experienced psychological, physical and economic tribulations, after that they finally realized that economy is the foundation for a stable family. When the child entered early childhood, they found him needed more education, so they sought for the opportunity of integrated education. At this stage, the parents didn’t give up medical treatment. When educational unit joined, they gradually identified that their child''s ability, they understood that their child could learn or adapt many things. During childhood period, the visually impaired child received integrated education. Under the joint the administration officers, tutors, the resource class teachers of the school, and the teachers of visually impaired students, the child adapted the class quickly, and he showed superiority on learning everything. At that time, the mother found that the child was interested in music. So the parents made 3D music book with their own experience and gradually guided him to learn the piano. From that moment, the child developed his outstanding performance on music. The reasons why their family could walk out the dark of visual impairment and established positive attitude are the followings: love energy of the family, support of religious belief, psychological restoring force, support from homogeneous parents association, the intervention of education in his life, the encouragement of social welfare system, and at last he won President Educational Award. Finally, analyzed through ecological system method, the reasons why the visually impaired child could show outstanding music talent are not only due to his own factors or family environmental factors, but also affected by community and school factors, social environment and cultural factors. At last, this study provides their story to help more similar families to walk out the low tide of life, face children’s disabilities positively, seek for superior ability together with their child, and set up positive outlook on their life.
