In order to achieve the research goals, the means of questionnaire survey was adopted. The tool is the “Questionnaire on Elementary School Students’ Environmental Cognition and Attitude towards Wetlands – Using Yongan Salt Pan Wetland as an Example” devised specifically for this study. A total of 1,300 questionnaires were sent to randomly selected 5th/6th graders in Yongan Township, Gangshan Township, Mituo Township, Jiading Township, and Luchu Township; 1,265 valid copies were retrieved (valid retrieval rate was 97%) and analyzed with SPSS10.0 for descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, and Pearson Chi-square. The findings are stated below: 1. The sources from which elementary school students acquire wetland-related knowledge are, in their order of significance, teachers'' course lectures, extracurricular books, and field trips. 2. The score percentage of the aspect of "the understanding of wetlands" is slightly low, whereas the score of "the attitude towards wetland conservation" is moderate/high. Among the sub-aspects of "the resources for wetland-related learning," "peer interaction" scored the highest, whereas "school education and social resources" scored relatively low. 3. Students'' wetland-related understanding varies significantly depending on their sex, parents, and their Past Wetland-related Experience (1): Have you participated in an ecological conservation learning activity on Yongan Wetland hosted by your school or community in the past year." 4. Students'' attitude towards wetland conservation varies significantly depending on their location of residence, mother''s occupation, and their Past Wetland-related Experience (1): Have you participated in an ecological conservation learning activity on Yongan Wetland hosted by your school or community in the past year," (2): "Have you participated in an ecological conservation learning activity on Yongan Wetland not hosted by your school or community in the past year," and (3): "Have you participated in any nature/ecology-related activities other than a learning activity on Yongan Wetland." 5. Elementary school students'' learning resources, environmental cognition, and attitude towards conservation are almost all significantly correlated with each other except between "peer interaction" and "environmental cognition" under "learning resources" and between "attitude towards conservation" and "environmental cognition."
