The proposed filter is combined with the hairpin line and defected ground structure (DGS), which forms a very compact three-pole filter. Hairpin line microstrip structure not only can enhance the electric capacity and inductance but also increase the size. Therefore, the filter is possessed the featured of high selectivity and low insertion loss . Besides, the proposed filter also exhibits a quasi-elliptic function response, with one finite frequency transmission zero closer to each side of the pass-band. Experimental results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulation results. A novel filter designed at IEEE 802.16e (2-6 GHz) has been presented at FR4 substrate, the thickness is 0.8mm,total size is about 10.4×8.6 mm2,the measurement implement -20dB insertion loss and -30dB in the stopnand which is measured by HP8720C network in (2~6 GHz).The group delay is about 0.65 ~ 0.77 ns and error is 0.12ns.
